The Virtue of Cotton Clothes

Take a deep breath. Your whole body breathes in cotton
clothes. Cotton always feels right against the skin, not itching or giving the wearer a feeling of being inside a pup tent on a warm, humid day. Cotton doesn’t hang heavy. It moves lightly, freely in a breeze. It allows you to breathe and go about your tasks comfortably. Perhaps that’s why it has stood the test of time as the perennial versatile fabric that finds its place on racks and within online catalogs every season, evolving with the needs and whims of society.

Cotton is the most popular fabric of underclothes. It made the t-shirt a necessity for casual comfort that pairs flawlessly with jeans. It is a necessity for those who engage in a lot of physical activity, who perspire a lot or challenge their range-of-motion, and it is the choice of sleepers around the world for a good night’s sleep and a morning of comfort until we must dress for the day – most frequently (for most) in cotton landing softly somewhere among wardrobe necessities.

Cotton clothes are also easier to care for than other fabrics, being that they are both washable and don’t always require ironing if you move quickly in getting clothes from the dryer to their destinies upon shelves or draping over hangars. It’s fortunate for us that cotton clothes are always to be found within the selection of the season, ready to wrap us in comfort.
