Hello,
I am Cheryl Kilburg, the owner of “My Heart’s Missing Link”. Just as with each pendant, there is a story behind the creation of this item. My Heart’s Missing Link is inspired by my losses and hopeful re-links in life.
I have a younger sister I am close with and her story is the reason behind My Heart’s Missing Link. Debbie’s granddaughter was given up for adoption soon after birth, and she has never gotten over her loss of this special little girl of hers. I wanted to give her something to recognize her loss; I searched for a special gift -- one that would serve as a sentimental symbol of that missing piece of her heart. I did not find any item that would fully represent her feelings on this.
I came up with the idea for this special heart design. Hoping that one day she would meet her granddaughter and them replace the missing link. I also thought the design suitable in representing my father’s passing (this devastated my mother). Also, my older sister Karen lost her first born son, Darron. I have lost two wonderful sister-in-laws (Barbara and Betty Jo). This would be symbolic to their children that have lost a wonderful and vibrant part of their life.
It is my hope that everyone purchasing My Heart’s Missing Link will benefit by providing a way to remember their missing link through this high-quality “heirloom” piece of jewelry.
